Offering of the Night Of Reparation

My Sweet Jesus, I desire to spend this time with You to console You and to make some reparation by the love of my poor heart for the agony You suffered in Gethsemani. In that lone hour You were forsaken, and the creatures whom You created to love You, loved You not. The weight of all our sins pressed on You, including mine; and for the sorrow which I caused You then by my sins, I will endeavor to repay You now by my love. Strengthen it, my Jesus, that it may in some small measure give You consolation. Sacred Heart of Jesus, strengthened in Your agony by an Angel, comfort us now in our agony.

Opening Prayer to the Blessed Sacrament

My Lord Jesus Christ, it is Your great love for us that keeps You day and night in this Sacrament, full of pity and love, expecting, inviting, and welcoming all who visit You. I believe that You are really present in the Sacrament of the Altar. From the depth of my nothingness, I adore You; and I thank You for the many graces You have given me, especially for the gift of Yourself in this Sacrament, for the gift of Your most holy Mother as my intercessor, and for the privilege of visiting You in this Church.

I now speak to Your most loving Heart with a threefold intention: to thank You for the gift of Yourself; to atone for all the insults which Your enemies heap upon You in this Sacrament; and to adore You wherever Your Eucharistic Presence is dishonored or forgotten.

My Jesus, I love You with my whole heart. I am very sorry for my ingratitude to Your infinite goodness. I now resolve, with the help of Your grace, never to offend You again. And, sinful as I am, I consecrate to You my entire self, my whole will, my affections, my desires, and all that I have. From now on, do with me and mine as You please. I ask for and desire only Your love, final perseverance, and the grace always to do Your holy will.

I intercede with You for the souls in purgatory, especially for those who were most devoted to the Blessed Sacrament, and to Your most holy Mother. I recommend to You also, all poor sinners. And lastly, my dear Savior, I unite all my desires with the desires of Your most loving Heart. Thus united, I present them to Your Eternal Father and beg Him in Your Name and for the love of You to hear and answer them. Amen.

General Devotions

My dear Jesus, I am a poor sinner, but I hope in that boundless mercy which keeps You a prisoner of love in the tabernacle. I come to You with a contrite heart, and I beg Your pardon and mercy. You are truly called the "Lover of souls," for You have sacrificed Your life for our salvation. You have said: "My delights are to be with the children of men," and Your death-bed gift to us was the Holy Eucharist. I behold the tabernacle surmounted by a cross, and this reminds me, dear Lord, that the Blessed Sacrament is a memorial of Your passion and death. I love that infinite goodness which induced You to institute this holy sacrament of the altar, the grandest memorial of all Your works, where You communicate Yourself so wonderfully to Your creatures. I thank You for this sublime proof of Your love and ardently wish that I could worthily acknowledge all the blessings that I have ever received from this fountain of grace and mercy. I sincerely regret that this precious pledge of Your love is received by so many Christians with coldness and indifference. I wish to make amends for my own ingratitude, and heartfelt atonement for all those sinful acts of my life, by which I have wounded Your Sacred Heart.

I offer You my profound adoration, my sorrow, and my love. I will praise Your Sacred Heart in this sacrament of love and strive to make reparation for all the acts of irreverence which have been committed against You. I love You with my whole soul; I acknowledge You as my only Master; I offer You all that I have, and all that I am. Jesus! I give You my heart with all its affections; I give You my soul with all its powers; I give You my body with all its senses. Jesus! I consecrate myself entirely to You; I wish to live and labor and suffer and die for the love of You. I abandon myself to You. Give me but Your love and Your grace; I will ask for nothing more. Thy kingdom come, Thy Will be done! I desire to adore and love You now, not only to supply the defect of those Catholics who do not adore and love You, but also for the conversion of heretics, schismatics, atheists, blasphemers, Jews, and idolaters. O silent dweller in the tabernacle, You are, indeed, a hidden God! Here You are still the victim of the cross!

As I gaze upon the sacred Host, I recall Your words at the Last Supper: "Do this in remembrance of Me" -- "Remember Me!" Yes, the Blessed Sacrament is a memorial of the "Man of sorrows," a memorial of the greatest pain a creature on earth ever endured, a memorial of the most tender, most constant, most unselfish, and most heroic love the world shall ever know -- the last sweet gift of a heart that fears to be forgotten. Oh, yes! Lord, I shall remember You. How could I forget Your love, dearest Jesus! May You be known, adored, and loved by all, and may thanks and praise forevermore be given to You in the most holy and most adorable sacrament. Amen.

An Act of Faith and Adoration

Jesus, my Lord and my God. Son of God, and son of the Virgin Mary. I believe that You are here, and I adore You. Behind the whiteness of the Sacred Host, I believe that You are present, in perfect, glorious manhood, and I adore You. With the angels of Your court, I kneel in humble adoration. With all Your Saints, Your poor servant adores You. With Your holy Mother Mary, I kneel here in humble adoration.

Prayer for Faith in the Real Presence

We come to You, dear Lord, like the apostles, saying: "Increase our Faith." Give us a strong and lively faith in the Real Presence. Give us the splendid faith of the centurion which drew from You such praise.

Give us the faith of the beloved disciple to recognize You, and say, "It is the Lord." Give us the faith of Peter to confess "You are Christ, the Son of the Living God!" Give us the faith of Mary Magdalen to fall at Your feet crying "Rabboni, Master!"

Give us the faith of all Your Saints to whom the Blessed Sacrament was heaven begun on earth. In every Communion, and at every visit, increase our faith and love, our humility and reverence, and all good things will come to us.

Dearest Lord, increase our Faith!

Prayer for Humility

O Jesus, my divine and most amiable Teacher, teach me humility and resignation to Your most Holy Will. This I ask with confidence. You have granted me temporal favors when I called upon You. You will not now reject my prayer for spiritual favors. True, the favor I now beg is infinitely superior to any temporal one and I am altogether unworthy to receive it, yet it is Your Will that I should be humble, truly humble, with sincere, heartfelt humility. Grant me this favor that I may be more conformable to You. Grant it, my beloved Savior, my most amiable Teacher.

Act of Charity

O good and merciful Savior, it is the desire of my heart to give love to You. My greatest sorrow is that You are not loved by all people, and in particular, that my heart is so cold, so selfish, and so ungrateful at times. Deeply aware of my own weakness and poverty, I trust that Your grace will enable me to offer You an act of pure love. And I wish to offer You this act of love in reparation for the coldness and neglect that is shown to You throughout the world. O Jesus, my sovereign good, I love You, not for the sake of the reward which You have promised to those who love You, but purely for Yourself. I love You above all things that can be loved, above all pleasures, and above myself. I will live and die purely and simply in Your holy love. If to love You I must endure persecution and suffering, I am perfectly satisfied. I say with St. Paul: "Nothing shall separate me from the love of Christ."

O Jesus, Supreme Master of all hearts, I love You, I adore You, I praise You, I thank You. I am Yours. Rule over me, and transform my soul into the likeness of Yourself, so that it may bless and glorify You forever in the abode of the angels and the Saints.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart

O Sacred Heart of Jesus! Teach me entire forgetfulness of myself, since there is no other way of entering into You. Grant that I may do nothing that is not worthy of You. Teach me what I ought to do to attain to Your pure love, with the desire of which You have inspired me.

I feel in myself a great wish to please You, and a great inability to do so, without a special light and assistance which I can look for only from You. Accomplish Your will in me, O Divine Heart of Jesus. To you alone shall be the glory if I become a saint, and it is for this alone that I desire to do your Will. Amen.

Prayer to the Adorable Heart on the Altar

Adorable Heart of Jesus, with infinite love for men You have fixed Your dwelling in the midst of us. We are deeply grieved at the emptiness which so often surrounds Your altar.

While so many of the temples of Satan and places of amusement are overflowing with unhappy clients who find in them their spiritual and eternal ruin, Your churches are often desolate and deserted.

We beg pardon for such ingratitude, blindness, and stupidity. Wishing for our part to offer fitting reparation, we propose with Your grace, to remain here always before You in spirit.

We pray You, O Lord, to see in each one of us the representative of all the people. Give us the grace to be able to fulfill this most noble office worthily so that on all the people, but especially on poor sinners, the sick, the suffering, the young, the innocent, the persecuted and upon priests and the Supreme Pontiff, may descend Your abundant, ceaseless, and divine benediction. Amen.
